Beautiful Voice, an innovative company in the healthcare industry, was founded by Andre Hallack and Yun Bing. Andre holds a PhD in Healthcare Innovation from Oxford and has extensive experience developing technologies for individuals with neurological conditions. He witnessed firsthand the struggles faced by people with communication issues such as stroke survivors and people with Parkinson’s, which affected their daily activities and subjected them to stigmatisation. Andre’s personal experiences and interactions with speech and language therapists inspired him to create a solution that could revolutionise the field and improve the lives of those with speech difficulties.
Beautiful Voice officially started its journey a little over a year ago, as Andre and his co-founder recognised the lack of technological advancements in speech and language therapy. They aimed to develop a platform that would empower individuals with communication issues to practice effectively while also assisting speech and language therapists in their work. The company quickly gained traction, securing private investments and grants. In September last year, they launched their prototype and conducted a usability study with a nation-wide neuro rehabilitation centre. Today, Beautiful Voice boasts around 400 users, including individuals with Parkinson’s, stroke survivors and other neurological conditions, as well as private speech and language therapists. The platform utilises personalised exercises that cater to each user’s interests, leveraging AI to generate dynamic content. By incorporating topics such as sports, popular TV shows, or other engaging subjects, users are motivated to practice more frequently. The platform also provides real-time feedback, thanks to AI-powered signal processing, which helps users improve their volume, pronunciation and other key aspects in their communication capabilities. Additionally, Beautiful Voice collaborates with speech and language therapists to help them deliver therapy more efficiently while creating evidence-based exercises, ensuring the highest quality of therapy. This combination of personalised exercises, interactive feedback and professional guidance sets Beautiful Voice apart from its competitors.
To date, Beautiful Voice’s greatest achievements lie in the significant positive impact it has made on users’ lives. Users have reported notable improvements in their speech and voice quality through consistent practice on the platform. The company’s success is also reflected in its ability to attract private investments and secure grants at an early stage. Moreover, Beautiful Voice’s rapid growth and the positive feedback received from the market demonstrate the effectiveness and value of their solution.
Andre and his team discovered the MSDUK (Minority Supplier Development UK) and the Innovation Challenge through their pursuit of opportunities to further promote Beautiful Voice. Recognising the potential synergy and support offered by MSDUK, they decided to participate in the Innovation Challenge to showcase their business, connect with a broader network and gain exposure to corporate partners.
The prize is always attractive, but Andre and this team say that the Innovation Challenge offers so much more than that: “apart from the £20,000 cash prize, the MSDUK Innovation Challenge is a valuable platform to gain recognition and establish Beautiful Voice as an industry leader in transforming communication for individuals with speech issues. Additionally, the networking opportunities provided by the challenge, including interactions with global brand leaders and fellow ethnic minority entrepreneurs are invaluable to our business.” By participating, Beautiful Voice aims to expand its reach, form strategic partnerships and drive further growth.
The Innovation Challenge Finals at the MSDUK Business and Innovation Show 2023 holds immense significance for Beautiful Voice. The team looks forward to gaining substantial exposure for their business and products, as well as the opportunity to pitch and showcase their innovative solution. They recognise the value of the platform in connecting with potential corporates.
The Innovation Challenge Finals will take place during the MSDUK Business and Innovation Show, which will be held in London on 14th and 15th September 2023. To find out more information and to purchase tickets, please visit: https://www.conference.msduk.org.uk
